Georgina Rodríguez is standing her ground against negative comments about her body. The Argentine-Spanish model, who is engaged to soccer legend Cristiano Ronaldo, took to Instagram earlier this week to confront the body shaming directly.

"I've seen all kinds of comments about some pictures of me on a boat these days," Rodríguez, who shares five children with Ronaldo, began her message in Spanish. "Some have an opinion on my body, others defend me."

"I was talking about it with Cris and I said: 'I'm worried that they're calling me fat now, because I live in my image,'" she recalled. "And he answered me: 'You don't live by your image. You live by what you are."

"A perfect woman. Beautiful, with a body, mother, good person, successful and living life with love. What the hell else do you want? It's normal for them to envy you. And we talked about many more things," she continued. "Sometimes we all need someone to remind us what really matters."

Rodríguez, who paired her caption with a carousel of bathing suit photos and selfies, went on to explore why her figure so often becomes a topic of conversation once summer rolls around.

"And then I wonder... Where is the standard? Who decides which is the 'right' body? Do we really still think that happiness has a size?" she wrote. "I workout because it makes me happy. Because I'm passionate about it."

"Because that hour at the gym is one of the highlights of my day. It gives me health, peace of mind, discipline, energy and wellness. It's never been a struggle to lose weight; it's always been a way of taking care of me," she continued.

"I love my curves. I love the freedom to live in the body I choose. In the body that holds me, that has allowed me to embrace, create life, fall and rise again. A body deserving of respect, love and gratitude in all its versions."

For Rodríguez, genuine fulfillment was never about squeezing into someone else's mold. Instead, she measures it by the peace she feels surrounded by loved ones and the effort she puts into caring for her health.

The businesswoman later added an update to her post, driving her message home even further. "My body will change, just like every woman's. And I hope I continue to do so for many years to come, because that will mean I'm still living," she wrote.

"I am a mother of 6 wonderful children, 3 are girls who will one day be great women. And if there's anything I wish to teach you — alongside Cris, who I am deeply proud of for the values he imparts as a father and as a man — it's that the value of a person can never depend on a physicist or on the opinion of strangers," Rodríguez continued.

"That little dose of positive psychology that I try to give them every day also helps me to keep my head on in this world of so much fantasy."
