The screenshot, posted on Friday, July 17, captured messages from an "Entire OG family" group chat, where Kris, 70, had been lifting her family's spirits with daily Bible verses.
The first passage Kris sent read, "Psalm 90:17 Lord our God, may your blessings be with us. Give us success in all we do," to which MJ simply replied, "Amen."
The next day, Kris followed up with, "Psalm 91:1 Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find protection in the shadow of the Almighty." MJ responded to her daughter's message with a simple praying-hands emoji.

The third and final verse Kris shared with the group came on Monday, July 13, and it centered on one being carried through hardship. "Isaiah 63:9 In his love and mercy he redeemed them, he lifted them up and carried them through all the years," she wrote.
A few hours later, MJ — also grandmother to Kourtney Kardashian, Khloe Kardashian, Rob Kardashian, Kendall Jenner, and Kylie Jenner — sent back her reply, "Amen."

Kris has not disclosed a cause of death. Her mother, whose full name was Mary Jo Campbell, appeared on the family's reality shows multiple times since they were first thrust into the spotlight with "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" in 2007.
The great-grandmother had two children, Kris Jenner and Karen Houghton. Houghton died of cardiac arrest in March 2024 at age 65. MJ was born in 1934 and passed away just shy of her 92nd birthday on July 26.
