Jessie J Announces She’s Going on a ‘Digital Cleanse’
The past two years brought a cancer diagnosis, a world tour, and a breakup for the British singer — and now she says it's time to slow down. She is logging off social media to be fully present in her everyday life.
Jessie J is taking a well-deserved break. The "Price Tag" singer took to Instagram on Monday, September 7, to announce that she is stepping back from social media to be more present in her real life and focus on raising her child.

"I want to start this post off by saying I am ok," Jessie began. "I am not at my best but very far from my worst. I know people can twist these kinds of posts. It's no secret that the last 2 years have been magical, successful, life changing and extremely busy."
She continued, "I have loved the last 2 years mostly, hated it in moments and learnt the most I have ever learnt about myself and what I want from my life and mostly what I want it to FEEL like."

The "Bang Bang" hitmaker went on to reflect on some of the biggest moments of the past two years, including releasing her first album in eight years, "Don't Tease Me with a Good Time."
The English native also relocated from the United States back to the United Kingdom during this stretch. In June 2025, she was diagnosed with early stage breast cancer and underwent a mastectomy, and was declared cancer-free this past May.
A month later, she and partner Chanan Safir Colman, with whom she shares three-year-old son Sky, announced their breakup. On top of her personal upheaval, Jessie also completed a world tour, where she handled her own social media and glam without a team behind her.
"Rightly so (it would be weird if it hadn't), The past 2 years has taken a toll on parts of me that I haven't had time to give space and grace to," she wrote. "Now's the time. Work has slowed down. So healing speeds up please."

"So I'm tapping out of this 🌎 for a while and into my real one," Jessie added.
"To give my mind, body and heart a well needed hug. To finally have my second cancer reconstruction surgery, to recharge, heal, to rest, to process, to love on myself and my boy, to water the next chapter of my life and most importantly be present and really live. 🌱"
She went on to admit that she feels unable to give that part of her life the attention it deserves while she remains so consumed by her phone and social media use.
"A digital cleanse it is," Jessie said. "I'm posting this for the people who would give af that I haven't posted or been active for a while. The people who have followed, supported, loved and cared on me and for me during this journey. Thank you for holding me up🫀🔋."
"So go easy in the comments serious Sallys," she joked, adding that she "might pop on every now and again for work commitments," which will sometimes be handled by her team. Beyond that, as she put it, "See you when feels right. Love you all 🫂."
Jessie later shared a black-and-white photo of her hand holding her son's hand on her Instagram Stories. "No place I would rather be," she captioned the post, set to "A Place I Love" by Hoogway. "By social media. Be back when I want to be."
