Gypsy Rose Blanchard Responds to Ken Urker’s Sister After She Accused Her of ‘Lies’

A devastating loss has sparked a painful public rift among those closest to the late Louisiana native. Now, one of them is sharing her side of the story.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard is speaking out after Autumn Urker, the sister of her ex-fiancé Ken Urker, accused her of lying in statements she made following his death. Autumn has publicly criticized how Gypsy has handled her grief in the wake of his untimely passing.

"At this time, I do not want the focus surrounding Ken's passing to become centered on negativity or disagreements between Autumn and me," Gypsy, 35, said in a statement to Us Weekly on Saturday, October 3.

"It is no secret that Autumn did not approve of Ken's relationship with me, and there has been significant tension between us, including public comments she made about me in the months leading up to his passing," her message read.

"Right now, my priority is grieving Ken, supporting our daughter and honoring his memory," she added. "I remain in communication with Ken's family, and aside from my relationship with Autumn, those communications have been positive and respectful during an incredibly painful time."

Ken died on Thursday, October 1, at his home in Louisiana, Gypsy confirmed to People. A spokesperson for the Lafourche Parish Sheriff's Office said officers were called to a residence in Raceland at around 6:15 p.m., where Ken, 34, was found "dead upon arrival."

When deputies arrived, they discovered drug paraphernalia — specifically syringes and a spoon — in the bathroom beside a brown, powdery substance, according to the sheriff's office report. A syringe, two shot glasses and a handgun were also found on the nightstand next to the bed.

In a statement to the outlet, Gypsy said she believed Ken had overdosed, adding that he "wasn't in a good state of mind lately. He had been drinking a lot to cope."

Gypsy and Ken briefly dated in 2018 while she was serving a prison sentence for her involvement in her mother's murder. They rekindled their romance in 2024 following her divorce from Ryan Anderson and went on to welcome daughter Aurora that December.

TMZ, which broke the news, reported that a family member discovered Ken unresponsive after he didn't answer a "happy birthday" text from Gypsy. Autumn has since challenged that version of events, accusing Gypsy of lying.

"Gypsy had no right to lie and say that it was because of some text that she sent to him," she told the US Sun on Friday, October 2. Autumn also alleged that Gypsy had been telling people she and Ken were "engaged and planning baby number two," which she insisted was untrue.

Autumn leveled several other allegations against Gypsy in separate interviews. In her Saturday response, Gypsy also opened up to Us Weekly about her "final phone conversation" with Ken just days before his sudden death.

"During my final phone conversation with Ken on Monday, September 28, he told me that he was deeply distressed by the situation," Gypsy claimed, referring to her feud with Autumn.

She went on, "[He] said that Autumn had repeatedly threatened to 'go harder' publicly and further contribute to the negative commentary and scrutiny he was already experiencing. Those were Ken's statements to me, and I can only speak to what he personally communicated."

Claiming that Ken faced online harassment in the lead-up to his death, Gypsy has since put forward a proposed law calling for "stronger protections and accountability" in cyberbullying cases.

"I would much rather use my voice to focus on that work and on preserving Ken's legacy than continue a public family dispute," she stressed. "I sincerely hope everyone can allow Ken to be remembered for the person and father he was rather than allowing disagreements among those who loved him to overshadow his life."

Ken is survived by daughter Aurora, 16 months, as well as his parents and siblings.
