Perez Hilton Still Hospitalized Two Weeks After Self-Harming on Livestream
Perez Hilton's road to recovery continues behind hospital walls. Nearly two weeks after the incident that landed him there, his family is opening up about what comes next for the 48-year-old blogger and his site.
Perez Hilton is still receiving inpatient care two weeks after what has been described as a suicide attempt during a TikTok livestream, according to a new family update posted to his website.

The message, shared on Monday, August 17, confirmed that the veteran internet personality remains under medical supervision following the August 4 incident.
"To everyone who has reached out, checked in, and kept Perez and our family in your thoughts, THANK YOU!" the family wrote. "At this time, Perez remains hospitalized and is receiving the medical care he needs."
The update went on to note, "His treatment is continuing in an inpatient setting under the care of a dedicated team of medical and mental health professionals."

Hilton was rushed to the hospital after appearing to self-harm during the livestream, which was broadcast from his home in Miami and showed him covered in blood.
Authorities treated him for lacerations and an overdose before admitting him under Florida's Baker Act, a statute that permits an involuntary hold when someone is deemed a threat to themselves or others.

A previous update, posted August 8, revealed that Hilton had lost a significant amount of blood and "sustained additional injuries" requiring surgery. His TikTok account was subsequently banned in the wake of the broadcast.
Despite the ongoing recovery, Hilton's team is preparing to resume operations on PerezHilton.com. "Perez built PerezHilton.com more than 20 years ago, and it has remained one of the most important parts of his life ever since," the family said.
"Starting this week, his team will begin publishing again, focusing on the day's biggest stories," they continued. "Whether you have followed Perez from the beginning or only recently started reading, we hope you will continue visiting, reading, and sharing the site."

The family closed the message with a note of gratitude. "We deeply appreciate your support while Perez focuses on his health and recovery. For now, Perez's health remains the priority as his team keeps the site active and moving forward."
The health update arrives shortly after Hilton's mother, Teresita Lavandeira, filed for temporary custody of his three children — Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, 8 — all born via surrogacy.
According to Miami court papers obtained by Page Six, Hilton reportedly consented to the arrangement himself.

"I realize that by signing this document, I am consenting to the Petitioner having temporary legal custody of the minor children and that such temporary custody is in the best interest of the children," the documents state.
Under the terms, Lavandeira is authorized to approve necessary medical and dental care for the children, access their medical, vital, and educational records, make schooling decisions, and "do all other things necessary for the care of the children."

The paperwork, signed by Hilton, further reads, "I realize that the custody of my children by the Petitioner is temporary and that I may, at any time, petition the court to return legal custody to me.
"I understand and acknowledge that I may have to comply with a reasonable transition plan prior to the court returning legal custody to me."
For now, Hilton's family says the focus remains squarely on his recovery, with the custody arrangement offering stability for his children while he receives treatment.
