"Before we go tonight, I have some devastating news to share from our Watch What Happens Live family," a visibly emotional Andy began at the end of the June 24 episode. "This is hard for me to get through, but, on Tuesday night, our beloved former production manager Kyra Samson passed away from brain cancer. She was only 28."

The 58-year-old host reflected on his late coworker's dedication to their work and her welcoming nature.

"During her four wonderful years with us, Kyra was known for her sweet smile and gentle demeanor," he continued, "but she could also be a small but mighty enforcer. To see Kyra on a bullhorn corralling massive crowds at BravoCon was truly a sight to behold."

Speaking on behalf of his fellow Bravo colleagues, Andy noted, "She's gonna be terribly missed by all of us here. And, no doubt, by everyone who was lucky enough to know her."

The host also urged viewers to support other patients battling the same aggressive form of cancer.

"I hope you'll join us in honoring her legacy by donating to the Kyra Fund, which will help provide urgently needed research for people with glioblastomas," he shared, "and hopefully help future Kyras out there."

A video posted to WWHL's official social media included a link to the Kyra Fund, established in partnership with the Glioblastoma Research Organization. Andy closed his tribute with a final message:

"We are sending all of our prayers and love to her family and her friends. We love you, Kyra."

Kyra's father, David Samson, the former Miami Marlins team president, announced his daughter's passing in a statement posted to X that same evening.

"Yesterday, my daughter, Kyra, passed away peacefully after a 9 month and 11 day fight against one of the cruelest diseases I've ever seen up close," he wrote. "I have felt all of your concern and love for these months and wasn't ready to be anymore specific than I was."

He went on to describe his daughter's strength throughout her illness.

"Kyra was a 28-year-old young woman who loved deeply and who is impossible to describe in 280 characters. While her life got stolen from her, she handled these months with courage, poise and resolve," he continued. "And all I want is for no family to feel what we feel today. For no young person to suffer the way she did."

Alongside his message, David included a photo of his daughter. In the picture, Kyra sits cross-legged on a navy-and-white striped picnic blanket surrounded by an assortment of treats, including a glass of rosé or white wine, a slice of cake, and a salad.

She's pictured wearing large amber-tinted aviator sunglasses, a black tank top layered beneath an open navy button-up jacket, light-wash high-waisted jeans, and a burgundy velvet scrunchie around her wrist, smiling softly for the camera.

Tributes have continued to pour in from fans and colleagues alike, a testament to the impact Kyra made during her time behind the scenes at "Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen."
